14 June 2016 | Honourable Artillery Company Gardens, London

Design Week Awards 2016

The Design Week Awards are the leading accolade in the design industry.

This year the Design Week Awards is returning to its previous venue, the Honourable Artillery Gardens. Because this is a venue that comes into its own in the sun, we’re holding the Design Week Awards on 14 June, when hopefully the British summer will be well and truly under way.

The Design Week Awards are now closed for entries. The winners will be announced at the awards evening on 14 June, so be sure to join us on the night as we celebrate the greatest designers working today.

Find out more about the categories, shortlist, judges and how to book your table for the event, below.

The Shortlist

We have received a show-stopping calibre of work this year, all in the running for a Design Week Award in the 19 categories below. In addition to these categories we will also be awarding the Best of Show award. This is an award that wasn't available to enter - it will instead be chosen from the winners of the 18 main categories (not including Rising Star) by the panel of judges. In their view, this will be the best design work entered into the 2016 Design Week Awards.

The shortlist has now been announced. View who's in the running for a 2016 Design Week Award below.

At the awards

Join Design Week on Tuesday 14th June 2016 as the design community gathers at the Artillery Garden at the HAC in London for an evening of fun and celebration as we award the finest designers working today.

Age of Design Award

Celebrating 25 years of inspirational design

As part of this year’s Design Week Awards, we are introducing a brand new accolade into the mix. In partnership with IBM, the Age of Design Award will be looking back over the phenomenal design work entered into the last 25 years of Design Week Awards. This award will be granted to the very best ‘Best in Show’ since the awards began back in 1990.

The Age of Design award aims to celebrate the best of the best in design over the past quarter-century, as the industry continues to evolve and shape our future experiences.

This award stems from the Age of Design project, in which our panel of experts – including key pioneers at technology visionary IBM – investigate how businesses are embracing innovation in design. They are not only exploring organisations’ forward-thinking design projects, but also the power of design and its ability to change our world.

You've been voting for your favourite so far, and the last 25 years’ of Best in Show winners have been whittled down to just eight. Who will win our Age of Design Award as the best of the best in design? It’s all down to you to decide, so we need your votes!

You can review details about who is in the running, as well as voting for your favourite entry below.

  • “Like many creatives I'm rather insecure and praise-driven, so it’s a real pleasure to have my work singled out by a jury of such accomplished practitioners. I suppose it’s confirmation I must be doing something right, and in our topsy turvy world that’s good to know.”

    Roger Horberry
    Copywriter, author and trainer

  • “Winning a Design Week Award was absolutely fantastic – it invigorated the whole agency and it was a brilliant achievement to share with our client.”

    Amy Maw
    Marketing Manager, jones knowles ritchie

  • “It’s always hard to quantify the hard benefit of winning awards, but in this case it’s definitely opened doors, started conversations and lead to some interesting opportunities. In other words, exactly what I hoped it would do.”

    Roger Horberry
    Copywriter, author and trainer

  • “We took a big risk on the rebrand work we did on ITV by tackling it all inhouse, with a tight deadline and ambitious deliverables. Despite this the whole team put their heart and soul into it so receiving such a great award was a rich reward for us all and made it all worthwhile.”

    Tony Pipes
    Executive Creative Director, ITV plc
