Benchmarks Awards 2008
Save the Children by Johnson Banks
Shortlist

Johnson Banks was appointed in 2006 to help Save the Children UK raise its profile. Save the Children wanted to regain its former status as an energetic voice for children's rights. While retaining the Gill Sans font and iconic outstretched arms of the existing logo, Johnson Banks asked children to create their own version of the font. The children's typography was digitalised and, with the help of Monotype, used on all Save the Children UK's collateral. The strategy and overall design concept was by Johnson Banks, while Save the Children's in-house team, Rufus Leonard and Johnson Banks worked on the implementation.
