Judges
Below are the top design professionals who have kindly agreed to take part in this year's judging. Watch this space to see who else will be revealed as part of the panel.

Simon Adamson, Creative Director, Bloom
Simon has spent over 18 years in the design industry, recently moving to Bloom as Creative Director. Prior to that he worked at Coley Porter Bell, where he was appointed Global Creative Director for Chivas Regal whisky. Simon has built up a breadth of experience and expertise in packaging design, brand identity and brand worlds for many blue chip clients such as Pernod Ricard, Cadbury, Nestlé, Unilever, BAT and Scottish Courage to name a few.

Matt Baxter, Creative Director, Together Design
Matt has worked for some of the UK's most respected design companies since beginning work in 1995 at multi-award-winning London studio Trickett & Webb. His clients have included the BBC, the Royal Mail, Land Securities, Disney, The Weinstein Company, Laurence King Publishing, Boots plc, The Body Shop, London Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris and The Australian Ballet. Matt is also a contributing illustrator for weekly children's comic The Phoenix.

Shaun Bowen, Creative Partner, B&B studio
Shaun’s career began in 1992 at Lewis Moberly. In 1997, he joined Pearlfisher and in 2000 he became their Creative Director. By 2004, he was Global Creative Director, managing design teams in London and New York. In 2009, Shaun left the company to set up B&B studio. Current clients at B&B include Innocent, Peppersmith and John Lewis.

Lee Broom, Interior and Product Designer, Lee Broom
British Designer of the Year (2011), Lee Broom founded his company four years ago and has since gone on to become one of the UK’s leading product and interior designers. In his career, Broom has launched five furniture and lighting collections, designed over 40 retail, restaurant and bar interiors and has won more than 17 awards.

Leigh Cain, Head of Design, Museum of London
Leigh has over 30 years experience as an Interior, Museum and Exhibition designer, from her first project Terminal 4 at LHR with Fitch & Co., to The First Emperor Terracotta Army exhibition for the British Museum, also managing the design of 33 new galleries for the Ashmolean Museum. Leigh now heads the design department at Museum of Design.

Jonathan Davies, Creative Director, ButterflyCannon
Jon has over 20 years’ design industry experience having worked at CPB, Planet Design (now FutureBrand) and Holmes & Marchant, initially as Creative Director and then as Managing Director. Now a founding partner of ButterflyCannon, a unique brand design agency that mixes creative thinking with neuroscience evaluation; which takes the subjectivity and risk out of the design process. He is now looking forward to the next 20 years in the industry.

Jamie Ellul, Creative Partner, Magpie Studio
Jamie Ellul is a founding partner at award-winning agency Magpie Studio. Established in 2008 with a clear intention of producing beautifully crafted, ideas-driven design, the studio can now count BAFTA, The British Heart Foundation, Channel 4, D&AD, Houses of Parliament, Land Securities, Nike, Robert Horne Paper, Royal Mail and University of the Arts amongst its diverse client list.

Martin Grimer, Executive Creative Director and Founder, AESOP
Martin Grimer has a long and distinguished career across packaging, brand design and communications, predominantly as a creative director in agencies such as Coley Porter Bell, Blue Marlin and now Aesop, the brand storytelling agency, of which he is a founding partner. Known for his enthusiasm, love of ideas and inspiration he tirelessly gives his creative teams to ensure excellence.

Philip Handford, Creative Director and Founder, Campaign
Philip Handford has been working in retail interiors for the last 15 years with global clients such as Burberry, Pernod Ricard, Dunhill, Nike and Selfridges. Philip set up Campaign in 2009 to challenge retail design across all brand platforms. The studio’s award winning projects and thinking appeals to the emotions of the consumer. Collaborating with internationally recognised forecast and technology consultancies, Campaign continually deliver high end, future facing retail experiences.

Caz Hildebrand, Creative Director, Here Design
Caz Hildebrand, a founding partner of Here Design is an award-winning graphic designer and art director. Current clients include The Balvenie, Hendrick's Gin, Nigella Lawson, Ottolenghi Restaurants, Fortnum & Mason, Heatherwick Studio and the V&A. Caz’s cookbook The Geometry of Pasta’ won a Design Week award for Book Design last year.

Steve James-Royle, Creative Director and Founder, The Yard Creative
Steve James-Royle is Founder and Creative Director of the award winning design agency, The Yard Creative. With a strategic and conceptual design background, over the past 12 years he has worked with brands such as Harrods, Tesco, B&Q, Superdrug, Westfield, JD Group and Eurostar. “I’ll be looking for those projects that have really considered the user and have broken the mould”.

Louise Kyme, Brand and Design Manager, British Heart Foundation
Louise has worked in design and illustration for over 10 years, and is currently Brand & Design Manager at the British Heart Foundation. Before pursuing her current career Louise travelled the world playing music with her family band.

Jeremy Leslie, Creative Director, magCulture
Jeremy Leslie is Creative Director at magCulture. As well as hands-on design, magCulture provides consultancy and advice to clients working with content for print and digital channels. He is a passionate advocate for editorial design, regularly speaking, writing and blogging on the subject.

Simon Manchipp, Founder, Someone
Simon has worked at the coal face of Branding and Design for 20 years. At SomeOne, the progressive Design practice he co-founded, he’s been behind some of the most talked about rebrands of recent years, from the re-imagining of The Royal Observatory to the relaunch of Eurostar. He’s an external examiner at St.Martins, part of the D&AD Executive and is 6’7” tall making him officially a giant.

Philip O'Dwyer, Creative Director, Method
Philip's 13 years of experience in graphic and interactive design span multiple media. Prior to Method, Philip was a founder at State Design, a boutique agency in London. Philip has spoken at events in Japan, Europe and the UK, and his design work has featured in numerous publications and exhibitions.

Steve Price, Creative Director, Plan-B Studio
A grounding in traditional graphic design, combined with a passion for new technologies has driven me to work confidently in a number of mediums simultaneously and allows me to create joined-up communications across multiple touchpoints. With over ten years of experience my passion (apart from cooking) is working with clients on building brands on and offline, from logo, brand and identity development to fully integrated CMS web site, bespoke design and layout for printed literature or an integrated marketing strategy.

Rhys Williams, Creative Director, Quietroom
Rhys Williams is Creative Director at brand language consultancy Quietroom, leading brand language, writing and training projects for clients including Which?, Whitbread, AXA and Prudential. He's also a musician and songwriter, whose work has been described as 'striking' by Radio 4, 'delightful' by Q Magazine and 'horrific' by the NME.

Stuart Wood, Executive Creative Director, FITCH
Over the course of his 12 years with FITCH, Stuart has led design work across a range of sectors. His passion and skill lies in the translation of brand into tangible customer and retail experiences. Working with some of the world’s leading consumer brands including Vodafone, P&G, Danone, Diageo, BAT and Jaguar.

Alexandra Wood, Director, Holmes Wood
Alexandra Wood went to school, then got a job, but didn’t like taking orders, so ended up running her own business with Lucy Holmes. Alex is also a Board Director of SEGD (Society for Environmental Graphic Design). She has given a number of fascinating talks around the world relating to wayfinding and information graphics. She believes that design succeeds when it both solves problems and looks good.
